What happens in the US when the Christian majority proposes an amendment outlawing ALL non-Christian marriage?

Making the assumption that they won't is simply putting ones head in the sand at this point. If the laws in a country are based solely on majority rule, that's simply a distributed fascism. Protection of minorities is the cornerstone of a functional republic. Why do people not see what precedent Prop H8 sets? What happens in the US when the Christian majority proposes an amendment outlawing ALL non-Christian marriage?
Theoretically, the courts would strike it down as being unconstitutional, but there's so many laughably unconstitutional laws any more that it would probably stand. What happens in the US when the Christian majority proposes an amendment outlawing ALL non-Christian marriage?
Prop 8 sets no precedent. California has a referendum on state laws (as does washington, and florida) that allows for state regulated issues (such as Marriage) be voted on by the people. The representatives in california would have passed this law with probably MORE fervor, this keeps legislation from the benches, and where it should be, with the legislatures (or in this case, the people)

Whether you agree with the out come or not it doesnt change the fact that it is quite ridiculous to say this undermines our current republic.
wont happen. You really need to go make some christian friends, or better yet, go to church. your idea of what a christian is, and how they act, is severly skewed.

Pro8 isint h8 its admitting an abnormality is normal, and its not at all.

its also wantng a religious cerimony, while ignoring teh religious rules. sorry nope.

%26gt;What ';evidence?'; That your steriotyping? how is that ';Evidence?'; if i used that logic, and based what i thought of races on the news, all blacks would be criminas by your logic right, since thats statistically what you hear? or would that be racist?

Again why dont you go meet some, make friends and see what their about for yourself
Your ';idea'; is not supported by recent evidence. Majority rule is far more preferred than rule by a small vocal minority. Which ';minority'; are you talking about? I consider a minority someone who was born that way, not a person who makes a Choice in lifestyle.
It followed the prescribed method of adopting a Constitutional amendment according to the California constitution. If you don't like it, I suggest you start a campaign to amend it to prohibit voter initiative amendments.
This is simply absurd. There is no basis for you to assume that the amendments regarding marriage aren't supported by many more Americans than just Christians. I've heard California called many things, but a Christian bastion, never.
The same nonsense that Obama and liberals will ban guns. Only way to amend the constitution requires ratification of 3/4 of the states, by a 2/3 majority in their state legislation. Good luck.
It really scares me personally. Unthinking intolerance will be the end of us all.
