Trouble - at 1st I agreed with a lot of what you said. UNTIL your woman hating became apparent. I make $75 an hour, so I believe that is quite a monatary contribution to the marriage. ALSO my salary allowed my husband to create his dream by starting a company (which is now very successful), in which I also now help him run. I can see why you're so bitter, because Trouble your bad attitude toward women doesn't allow you to find a true partner.
Marriage ';should'; be a true partnership between a man and woman (history dictates that). BUT who is to say that a ';Legal'; partnership cannot be had by same sex alliances? Who gives a cr@p what it's technically called. But they deserve to have the legal rights that heteros do. I have many friends homosexuals) that have 20 year plus relationships. They have bought homes, insurance policies, etc. that should be recognized legally.
The ACLU is a freakin joke. The government should just let the states decide what they want, and the states should have the stones to stand by a decision.

I am assuming by ';all marriages'; you mean traditional man-woman marriage. The ACLU could not ban traditional marriage because it's does not violate any civil liberties. The ACLU did not ban gay marriage, so why would they ban ';all marriage'; as you say? Your question just doesn't make sense.
Hopefully soon, Marriage is a joke today where most marriages don't last.They should make getting married as hard to get as a building permit.You should have to take some college courses to get a license to get married.People like Brittney Spears can get quick divorcees and married again at the drop of a hat.You straight people can use and abuse your right to get married but people who live a alternate lifestyle can't even get married once.
If they can pull this off and keep me out of paying alimony, it would be one of the few things I've agreed with them on in the last couple of decades.

Marriage is a farce . Instituted by Men to show ownership of a woman . Marking her hand with a ring is better then a tattoo .
This marking was respected till we stopped stoning adulterous couplings .

It creates a court enforcible debt to pay for your reproductivity if you are a man . Women however have the choice of weather to have a child or not hand it to the state and walk away . Why not fathers .
NO man can force a woman to have a child . Many married women have abortions secretly because they enjoy their husbands money and the freedom to have affairs while he is occupied earning a living .
I say ban marriage and create contracts that spell out in advance what is expected and the rules and get the courts out of peoples lives .
A wife like a husband is a purchase or trade agreement . She agrees to provide sex (which she enjoys also),children (Which she enjoys also )and company (which she may or may not want given her moods ) and he provides an income (something she does not do ).
Now if she suddenly stops providing her end of the contract or begins to employ a subcontractor to provide entertainment beyond her husbands ability to provide she should no longer benefit from the arrangement and the husband should not be forced to pay for the care of the children . .
they wont..they want pedophiles to be able to marry their victims...so no...they wont do that
the aclu mainly works to preserve rigths, not to ban them.
were someone to try to ban all marriages, the aclu would fight against that as well.
