If gay marriage becomes legal, would that mean that separate bathrooms will be illegal also?

After all, if it makes no difference whether it's a man or a woman someone marries (a lifelong relationship), then why would it matter whether someone is a man or a woman in the next stall from you for five minutes?

And if gay marriage is like interracial marriage, then shouldn't segregation by race be eliminated? We got rid of racial segregation when we got rid of interracial marriage bans.

If my analogies are wrong, then please tell me why, using LOGIC not INSULTS. Thanks. If gay marriage becomes legal, would that mean that separate bathrooms will be illegal also?
You are exactly right. Gay marriage opens a Pandora's box that no one wants opened. If gay marriage becomes legal, would that mean that separate bathrooms will be illegal also?
Hmmm . . . I guess if people see no difference between banning interracial marriage and banning same-sex marriage, then any arguments for ';privacy'; in relation to single-sex bathrooms would be deemed as ';bigoted'; as similar arguments regarding racially segregated facilities.

Let me be clear: racial segregation and discrimination are wrong. But the law does recognize that there are differences between men and women. They are equal but not identical - they're a matched set!
I very much doubt gay marriage will have an effect on gender split bathrooms, and im not sure how you linked the two, i think many people would be uncomfortable with unisex bathrooms and there's always the perv guys who'd take advantage of the situation.

I also don't see the connection with interracial marriages and gay marriage, and i can't think of anywhere where racial segregation is still an issue.
No, I don't think so. Because there's still the law of ';public boundaries.'; Regardless of orientation, you are still the sex you were born with, no matter how you identify. I'm not sure how that works with transsexuals, but I don't think there would be a change in restroom-usage. There's just that old common decency.
i understand your logic. i never really saw it that way. that is definitely a different turn on things but i still think that would be a little awkward.
No. That would only happen if Straight marriage became illegal. As it is, people are given a choice.
