How would you react if you found out your marriage partner had been sexually abused as a child? How can you ?

be supportive? what are some things you could expect? How would you react if you found out your marriage partner had been sexually abused as a child? How can you ?
I heard a story from a friend of a friend.

It shocked me a bit...

The wife confided in her man. He made a joke about rape rather thoughtlessly... and then she started to cry. He told her to 'get the **** over it'.

nice huh? strangely she didnt cry again about it after that. and they are still together and are happy. Needless to say, his later explanation was 'tough love' because he couldnt stand to see her cry. pfft. In my opnion its another word for selfishness. How would you react if you found out your marriage partner had been sexually abused as a child? How can you ?
Actually, this has happened. I felt very sad for him and told him, of course, that no child should be subjected to such mistreatment. Also, I commiserate with him about the person who did it to him (a family member). Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have affected him sexually.
Its actually really hard and not so hard - i told my boyfriend and he understands when i am upset and just hold me, Try not to talk about it unless they want to.
They have huge trust issues!!!!! Don't ever believe what anyone say's and do not like to be touched, even by granny!
