The first thing that comes to mind when i think of 'westernized' are anglo-saxons from western europe/america/australia etc... Even going to those countries you feel a sense of lonliness. Divorces, individualiality, socially liberal, lacking customs/ traditions. While latins, slavics asians etc. you feel right at home because the community is to close knit and relatives are so close. There is problems with marriage and family in both westernized and non-westernized countries. The reason why you see people more content in non-westernized countries is because they grow up learning that marriage is what they are destined to do. While in westernized you have the freedom. However, with that freedom there is always a price (not becoming satisfied). I don't think it matters how you deal with marriage, just as long as the person/couple is happy.Why westernized countries have a hard time with marriage %26amp; family?
we dont necessarily have a hard time with marriage or family, its we have the right to tell or family butt out and a spouse to get out..i see marriage in other countries the same way you see it here..no one should marry someone they dont want to or hand picked by family..your family is your family..but they should respect your grown-ness and not butt in your life, as far as traditions..all traditions are not good ones..thats why i love the USA..and far as loneliness..id rather be lonely than put in the above situations
I don't think its just westernized countries- I'm sure everyone has a good deal of marital problems...some just choose to make them not so public
