Abundance - it's like saying they will never go hungry...What is the significance of bride and groom pouring rice on each others head during marriage?
I don't know about Indian weddings specifically but rice is thrown at Bride and Grooms all over the world. Rice is a sign of fertility.
they are hungry
to kill off the birds. it's a scientific fact, when birds eat the rice and then drink water, the rice expands and most often kills the bird. don't know if that was the intent but it definitely kills the birds.
it is for good luck
so they have sumethin to munch on during the honeymoon
its kinda weird but its saying like the bride and groom will never go hungry in there marriage together
