I'm not sure if my husband cheated on me or not and I'm desperate to find out. If we start therapy or counseling or anything of the sort, would they help your spouse admit to the cheating, or would they just help you get past it, whether the cheating happened or not?Would a marriage counselor help in you finding out if your spouse cheated on you?
It's possible but don't 100% expect that to happenWould a marriage counselor help in you finding out if your spouse cheated on you?
A marriage couselor will not force him to be honest. They can only suggest that he does and leave it up to him to decide to be honest or not be honest. If you want to know and you have pretty good evidence to suspect he did, ask him to take a lie detector test. He will probably say yes thinking you won't follow through with it. Follow through. They cost a couple hundred bucks or so but if you look in your phone book you will find a detective or lie detection agency that will give him the test. Be sure you are prepared for the truth if you get it and know what you are going to do. I must also add, that even if the test comes out that he was cheating, chances are he will say the test was wrong.
If you are really so desperate to find if he is cheating or not, you need to do little bit spying on him or may ask somone to keep an eye on him for you. Marriage councellor usually help when the cheating has established and you still want to save your marriage.
It's not their job to find out if your husband cheated. And if they tried, they could wind up losing their license. They're just there to help you deal with your problems, which may or may not include cheating.
No. Ask your husband and look him in the eye, when he gives you his answer!
