Do you think that sexual abstinence until marriage is realistic?

Also: Do you think it's better to remain a virgin until marriage, or is it perfectly fine to give away your virginity whenever you feel like it?

I think it is realistic, however I think TOTAL abstinence, which means no fingering or blow jobs, etc, might be a little less realistic, but still doable. It's not impossible.





I think remaining a virgin until marriage is better, because a) less partners means less chances for an STI, b) it shows self-control and respect for the intimate act of making love, and c) it makes it that much more special for you and your husband, to have that ';first'; experience together.Do you think that sexual abstinence until marriage is realistic?
I don't look down on those who choose abstinence until marriage, but I strongly disagree with those who teach that a condom is a ';provision for sin';.





I used to go to conservative churches that teach that abstinence crap, and I learned that the leaders of these churches actually crack jokes about 30 and 40 year-old virgins behind their backs. Now I just send my Christian friends to the site below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. It covers same-sex lifestyles too. I hope it helps you.
I think it really is a decision that the people involved have to make for themselves. Let's face it, most people that I know about have sex before marriage. Does that increase or decrease the chances the marriage will or won't last? I have no idea. People get divorced, and marriages end for a variety of reasons, and I don't know that it matters whether the people involved were virgins or not. I know there are religious and moral beliefs involved here that people hold extremely dear, but, frankly, I don't know why we care so much. Best wishes!
