Can women abuse their husbands in a marriage, in a legal sense?

Or does the law only recognize abuse as against a wife?Can women abuse their husbands in a marriage, in a legal sense?
Abuse is abuse. It doesn't matter who is doing it. The law protects men and women.Can women abuse their husbands in a marriage, in a legal sense?
Women have been prosecuted for abusing their husbands. Women can be verbally abusive, emotionally abusive, and even physically abusive ... just like men can.

';Very little in known about the actual number of men who are in a domestic relationship in which they are abused or treated violently by women. In 100 domestic violence situations approximately 40 cases involve violence by women against men. An estimated 400,000 women per year are abused or treated violently in the United States by their spouse or intimate partner. This means that roughly 300,000 to 400,000 men are treated violently by their wife or girl friend.

There are many reasons why we don't know more about domestic abuse and violence against men. First of all, the incidence of domestic violence reported men appears to be so low that it is hard to get reliable estimates. In addition, it has taken years of advocacy and support to encourage women to report domestic violence. Virtually nothing has been done to encourage men to report abuse. The idea that men could be victims of domestic abuse and violence is so unthinkable that many men will not even attempt to report the situation.';

This is what another site said: ';Domestic battery, theft, and destruction of property are private and civil wrongs. The victim can sue for damages. Get a restraining order now and change the locks, sue in civil court now and, when the assailant is your spouse, file for divorce now.';

This last statement is for men and women.
Yes a wife can be abusive to her husband and perhaps it is reported as much because of the traditional stereotype that a man is tougher than his wife. It does happen!
Yes. And it happens more frequently than the general public is aware. I've seen a number of female inflicted injuries that, in my opinion went beyond abuse into criminal assalt. Guy victums tend to not want to report because they are concerned that they will be percievecd as ';weak';, But a woman scorned...or a woman drunk...can be a very violent person.
