Why do people always assume that marriage and popping out kids are what life is about?

Do they not realize that there are other things to do in life other than marriage/kids and not everyone cares for it? Some people like being alone, like being free to do as they wish and do not want to marry/kids. Why do something if your not wanting to or bring kids in the world if you dont truly want them? Its annoying when people ask me that or when relatives ask. Even more, how is it anyones business other than my own.Why do people always assume that marriage and popping out kids are what life is about?
Thats an interesting question and i think it depends a lot on the cultural and social background one is brought up in. For example, I am gay and I came out to my parents couple of years ago - they were upset thinking that I wont be able to marry and carry on the family but were not too conservative to make a real big issue out of that - however, as you said, there are some conservatives in this society who refuse to accept any violation of predefined rules. But well, we are moving to new social changes, single status is gradually gaining recognition too, so I guess eventually one will learn that being a single or not having a child is what one does out of his own choice and not to downgrade the society - we should all wait till that dawn comes and enlightens us all.Why do people always assume that marriage and popping out kids are what life is about?
I want to be travel the world taking photography and live on an island. I'll be livin' the dream. Marriage = Divorce. I'm not spending 18 years raising bratty kids anyways. I like your view on life, Snake! ^_^
