What's the rights os same sex marriage in the united states ?

am non US male engaged to US male from MA , and we are planning to get married soon , so after we get married can i apply for Green Card ? and what's my Rights ?What's the rights os same sex marriage in the united states ?
The Federal government has already created a law -- 12 years ago, called the Defense of Marriage Act -- that says if any state legalizes same-sex marriage, the feds will not recognize it as a marriage. So in the eyes of the federal government, you and your man are just boyfriends. What's the rights os same sex marriage in the united states ?
In MA, you both have to be residents of the state to get a marriage license, so you'll need to take care of that detail before planning the big event. The other problem is that marriages granted in the state of MA are not recognized in most other states, so I would think you would have a hard time getting a federal Green card on that basis. Since gay marriage is not a federal right, you may have problems.
The federal government does not recognize same-sex marriage, regardless of any state laws. For immigration purposes, your MA marriage will not be considered valid due to the DOMA.
That's a very good question.

Same sex marriage is regulated by the states. So if your state allows it, you can be legally married.

But immigration is governed by the Federal government, so do they have to honour the state's marriage?

Very interesting...
