In Romeo and Juliet, do you think if Romeo had told Mercutio of his marriage things might have been different?

I mean in terms of the death scene because Mercutio was confused and just couldn't understand why Romeo refused to fight Tybalt. He assumed Romeo was being a coward so he stepped in.
