Both parties have moved so far to the left since then. The Honorable JFK was way more conservative than that Progressive G.W. Bush. LBJ was of course just a jerk.

I don't think the whole thing would compute.
They probably wouldn't make as big a deal about it as the liberals, the old Democrats weren't as extremely different from the Republicans like the liberals are
It isn't the Democrats making the big deal. They aren't the ones judging them as deviants and standing in the way of their rights. They accept they are human and deserve to be treated as such.
The Democrats and Liberals keep pushing ';Gay rights '; as a smoke screen to help disguise their real socialist agendas. Its a mere diversion and distraction.
Democrats aren't making as much noise as the Right in rejecting it... in fact Democrats in general don't really care, they just believe in doing the right thing

LBJ was a Texas liberal who advocated for civil rights based on race and gender... not lifestyle and perversion.
They would be wondering exactly why and how homosexuals had highjacked the party.
